The new release have made som major changes in how we upload and deal with the data in piqlConnect. The first upgrade a completely new submission window which gives a better overview and builds for more flexibility going forward.

You now have the option to choose between storing data as shared or dedicated. When storing data on a dedicated piqlFilm, it means that you physically own the piqlfilm your data is stored on and can choose where to physically keep this piqlFilm. You can always ask to get the physical asset back in the future. If you choose to store the data on a shared piqlFilm you are buying data as a service from Piql, and will always be able to retrieve your data through piqlConnect, but not physically request to get your piqlFilm sent to you. Data stored on both dedicated and shared is always easily managed through piqlConnect.

We added MD5 hashes when uploading to increase the level of data integrity.

The version 2.8 also saw an update to the folder structure, making both the upload process, management of files and folders in Open Packages as well as searching in Archived files a lot more efficient. You will see the folder structure now to be similar to what you are used to from other data management platforms and on your computer.

Lastly, we have now implemented the functionality for drag and drop in the Open packages area which allows for more seamless user experience as well as the opportunity to upload multiple folders at the same time.
