The Frozen Cloud is a storage option in life cycle data management platform piqlConnet.

It is utilized through our sustainable Norwegian cloud storage service, where we offer to store data in the same manner as on the piqlFilm in a recurring and cost-efficient way. Once you submit data to the Frozen cloud, you “freeze” the data and transfer it to a near-line storage system. The files are not instantly accessible in piqlConnect, but can be retrieved within 15 hours upon a retrieval request. The system will notify you once the files are fully retrieved and available for download.

The Frozen cloud allows for greater flexibility as your data can be deleted at a given point and opens up for specific retention schedules. Where the piqlFilm is designed to keep data forever, the Frozen cloud is an excellent option for data that you want to keep safe for a mid-term time perspective of 10 to 15 years.

The pricing model is based on a recurring monthly or annual fee per GB which means you pay for what you need and as long as you need it.
