The retrieval process are used once you have data stored on piqlFilm or in the Frozen Cloud and would like to access these files and download your files.

The process is identical for retrieval from piqlFilm and Frozen Cloud, with the main difference being the time it takes to retrieve the data.

Retrieval from piqlFilm

The retrieval from piqlFilm is initiated by clicking “Retrieve package”.

This sends a message to the system that the package is requested retrieved. Our system picks up the request and inform the vault of the piqlFilm that information from the medium needs to be retrieved. The piqlFilm is then brought to the nearest piqlReader, the piqlFilm is being scanned and the relevant files are then being decoded before being uploaded to piqlConnect.

Within hours the files are available for download through piqlConnect and a message is being sent for notification once the files are available and ready. Depending on where the piqlFilm is physically stored the process can take from a few hours to several days.

Retrieval from Frozen cloud

The retrieval process is similar for Frozen cloud, the main difference is that everything is happening automatically. The process from request to files are available for downlaod can take up to 15 hours.
